DEEP FREEZE: Emergency Homeless Shelter

Journey Home partners with the Salvation Army and First Baptist Church for the "Coldest Nights" emergency men's shelter. Scott Foster with Journey Home tells WGNS the program is for men who need shelter when temperatures fall to levels where frost bite and even death are possible...

The shelter, through December, has been open at First Baptist Church in downtown Murfreesboro. From January through the rest of the season, it's held in the gym of the Salvation Army on Salem Highway at West Main. The emergency shelter is open from 7pm to 7am. Foster says when temperatures are brutally cold during the day, there are places for the men who aren't working to keep warm.
