Newport cigarettes are what one thief was after when stealing a woman’s credit cards this past November. Police have since released a picture of the suspect.

The 71-year old victim told police that she was never more than a few feet away from her purse that was in her shopping cart when the subject lifted her wallet. The theft occurred at Walmart on Old Fort Parkway. Weeks after the theft occurred, the suspect was observed in a security video obtained from a local market purchasing Newport cigarettes with one of the stolen credit cards.

The unidentified man is accused of using three stolen credit  cards at five Middle Tennessee gas stations, three drugstores, and a hardware store. The culprit is also accused of making two purchases by phone with companies in California.
