Family Worship Center's annual Holiday Celebration, "Joy to the Boro' "raises $7,000 for The Salvation Army of Murfreesboro

Sunday Dec. 20, Music Pastor Wayne Miller from the Family Worship Center (FWC) presented a check for $7,000 to Lt. Andy Seiler, Commanding Officer for The Salvation Army of Murfreesboro. The $7,000 was raised Dec. 5th & 6th at FWC's annual Holiday Celebration, "Joy to the Boro". Both nights recording artists Jaci Velasquez and her husband Nic Gonzales, kicked off the 2015 holiday season with a free Christmas concert at the FWC www.familywc.com located at 3045 Memorial Blvd in Murfreesboro TN.

Lt. Andy Seiler attended and both nights of "Joy to the Boro'" and wishes to thank the following: The Family Worship Center staff & congregation, Jaci and Nic, 94.1 the Fish, and everyone that attended making this a great 2 night event. "We will apply this money to replace the mattresses and furnishings for our shelter, we feel blessed to receive this donation", Seiler said.

"I was excited to see the auditorium full with more than 600 people on both nights. This is an annual event and our gift to the Community. Jaci and Nic were wonderful and our FWC Worship praise team enjoyed performing with them on a few songs", Miller added.

The Salvation Army of Rutherford and Cannon County believes its existence is to offer hope to the hopeless with great care and integrity to all people.

Salvation Army program highlights include, but are not limited to:

  • 25,550 warm nutritious meals are prepared and served annually to Center of Hope residents
  • 885 local children (365 families) received Christmas gifts and clothing though the yearly Angel Tree Program
  • The Salvation Army instituted this Program in 1979
  • 512 adults attended Life Skills classes for personal and professional development
  • 400 Center of Hope residents were provided housing, individual case management, and mentoring services
  • 25% of Life Recovery residents are given an opportunity to work 3rd shift jobs
