A 17-year old Siegel High School male student died in a crash on Memorial Boulevard. William Divilbiss died in the accident, which happened at 8:05pm Saturday night on 2500 Memorial, right beside the State Farm headquarters.

Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Amy Norville says the crash involved one vehicle, which was traveling north on Memorial. She reports the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole and a tree, resulting in the driver's death.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Fatal Accident Crash Team. However, Norville says drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.

Additional counselors were at Siegel Monday to help students and teachers cope with the loss of Divilbiss.

Murfreesboro Mayhem, a local lacrosse team, tweeted: "Our heart breaks, for as of last night, we have lost a beloved teammate and friend. Please send your thoughts and prayers out to the family and friends of one of our own, Will Divilbiss."
