This coming Friday, Feed America First, a local hunger relief organization based out of Murfreesboro, will move into a new home at 319 Murfreesboro Street.

In the past, the organization relied on rented spaces, rendering them homeless on two separate occasions. Their current landlord, Robert Stroop, constructed the warehouse for the organization after they outgrew their past rented space, giving Feed America First its first permanent home. At 20,000 sq. ft., the new warehouse triples the organization's previous capacity.

Feed America First Executive Director Tom Henry said, "We believe that the solution to hunger is a local issue, neighbors helping neighbors. We are here to help our neighbors in Middle Tennessee, and our beautiful new facility helps us make a bigger difference."

Hosted by the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, the ribbon cutting will include acknowledgement and recognition of all the local businesses, corporations and individuals who donated equipment, construction materials and brought Feed America First's new warehouse to life. There will be opportunities to take tours, meet the staff and learn more about the organization. Hamburgers and hot dogs will also be provided.
