A shots fired call in Murfreesboro landed a 19-year old Lascassas resident behind bars.

Brian D. Turner called the police early Monday morning to report that his vehicle was stolen after leaving it at Student Quarters Apartments on Greenland Drive. Turner told officers that he had a friend give him a ride to Corner Court before calling to report his ride was missing.

Evidently, the car matched the description of a vehicle involved in the shots fired call on University Street late Sunday night. When Detective Ed Gorham spoke to Turner one on one about the incident, he confessed to being involved with the shots fired call that dispatch received. He also admitted to filing a false report about his vehicle being stolen.

Turner was charged with not only filing a false report, but also reckless endangerment with a weapon. He will face the courts on July 18, 2016. He is currently free on bond.
