Parents who want to get their child's car and booster seats checked for safety may do so for free.

The event will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Criminal Investigations Division Office at 964 New Salem Highway.

Certified child safety seat technicians from Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue will examine the seats and show parents how to safely install the seats.
