Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services, located at 285 John R. Rice Blvd., in Murfreesboro, is offering a limited number of free sterilizations for dogs and cats, thanks to a grant from the State of Tennessee.  Grant funding is provided from the sale of Animal Friendly license plates and due to the limited funding, the surgeries are only available to those who qualify as low income.

Residents may call (615-898-7740 ext. 113) to see if they qualify for one of the free sterilizations.

“We are grateful to the State of Tennessee for again funding these surgeries at PAWS” says Michael Gregory, Director, Rutherford County PAWS. “It is well known that the only way to end pet overpopulation is through the use of effective surgical programs.  We have a limited number of surgeries and a limited timeframe to complete them.  We ask that residents act quickly while this opportunity exists” adds Gregory.
