Did you realize that Murfreesboro has a sizable population of persons of India heritage? The Friends of India Association of Murfreesboro (FIAM) is an active community organization. 

Chanderkant Sharma told WGNS News, "One of our primary mission is to ensure that our new generation is aware of heritage of culture from their place of origin, which is Indian sub-continent. We organize at least three major events each year".

The next major event will be August 23rd at the Patterson Community Center. That is India's independence day, and will feature cultural performances from community members followed by Indian food. This event is open to anyone (members and non-members of FIAM). The event has performances from the community members and audience can get to know about India.
