Fun At Barfield Crescent Park This Weekend

The Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department will offer two special events this coming weekend at Barfield Crescent Park, 697 Veterans Parkway.

Friday (6-8PM) Free Concert

Join us for the first night of the free summer Concert Series on Friday, August 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Pavilion #7 in Barfield Crescent Park. Creatively infusing a Mumford and Sons, bluegrass flavor and a rock 'n' roll vibe; the band Grizzly Goat has created a new music genre in their own right. "As a band we go all the way from 'O Brother Where Art Thou?' bluegrass to almost Black Keys blues rock," Nate Waggoner, founder and lead singer of the band said in a recent interview. Join in the fun at Barfield Crescent Park for an outdoor, summer concert series. It will be fun for the whole family. Please bring chairs/blankets for seating. Friday, August 18 will be The O'Donnells and August 25, is Secret Commonwealth.

Saturday (10AM-1PM) Wild Arts Day

Don't miss Wild Arts Day, Saturday, August 12th at the Wilderness Station from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and celebrate the world's best artist- Mother Nature. Come enjoy a wild and artful day. There will be fun activities for all ages such as student art, professional art, art by animals, puppet shows, an art scavenger hunt walking trail, wild animals, crafts, live music with Farmer Jason, and more at this exciting festival full of wildlife and art. Free for all ages.
