Gas station near I-24 robbed again in LaVergne

UPDATE: A gas station in La Vergne was robbed a second time in two months on Friday, January 9. The Pilot Travel Center on Waldron Road was again targeted after another robbery on December 14, 2014.

At around 11:35 p.m., four black males in their late teens or early twenties walked up on foot. All but one had their faces covered, and one carried a short barrel revolver that was dark in color. The suspects were in and out in about 45 seconds. A witness observed them running from the store and into a white SUV that was waiting nearby. The vehicle left the area in the direction of I-24.

"The only items taken in the robbery were some tobacco products," said Detective Bobby McCoy. "When the clerk opened the registers and showed there was no cash, the suspects grabbed black and mild cigars and ran from the store."

There were no injuries reported.
