Go Italian 4:30PM Wednesday: MTSU Honors Building

A special MTSU lecture featuring history professor Fabio Troncarelli of Italy will be held starting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Paul W. Martin Sr. Honors Building’s Simmons Amphitheater (Room 106).

Troncarelli’s visit is a collaboration of the Honors College and College of Liberal Arts. He is professor and director of the master’s degree program in cultural studies at the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, Italy. He will discuss “Medieval Rome.”

Troncarelli earned his degree in the study of ancient writing at Sapienza University of Rome. Among the institutions at which he’s held scholarships and/or fellowships: the Wartburg Institute in London; International Symposium on “The Book in Medieval Culture” at Oxford in England; and a Fulbright at the University of Chicago Divinity School.

Troncarelli has written many distinguished publications and articles, and he is a trustee of the International Boethius Society.

Honors College associate dean Philip Phillips serves as secretary of the International Boethius Society, a nonprofit organization promoting scholarship on all aspects of work, influence and age of Boethius, who was an early sixth-century philosopher from Rome.
