UPDATE: Accident on Thursday

On Thursday afternoon, a motorist driving a Jeep Cherokee wrecked on I-24. The victim, age 25, was ejected from the SUV in the accident that occurred in Smyrna near the Sam Ridley Parkway exit. The name of the driver who was critically injured has not been released because the next of ken have not been notified. The victim is at Vanderbilt Medical Center. State Troopers say the person was not wearing a safety belt and wrecked after approaching traffic and trying to avoid a slowing car.
