TN Governor Bill Haslam will be in Murfreesboro on Friday (7/21/17). He will be making a Tennessee Department of Transportation grant announcement from the Patterson Park Community Center at 1:00 Friday afternoon.
While exact details of the grant have yet to be released, there is a backlog of road projects in Rutherford County. That backlog adds up to over $191 million.
Some of the road projects T-DOT aims to accomplish with the passing of the APPROVE Act include:
- The widening of Highway 99 from I-24 to Old Fort Parkway
Costs: $7,020,000. - Backlogged - The widening of Highway 99 between I-24 to Cason Lane
Costs: $30,800,000.- Backlogged - The widening of Highway 99 from Cason Lane to Veterans Parkway
Costs: $26,900,000. - Backlogged
- The widening of Bradyville Pike between Broad Street and Rutherford Blvd
Costs: $10,600,000. - Backlogged - The widening of Thompson Lane between Broad Street and Memorial Blvd
Costs: $25,600,000. - Backlogged - The widening of Jefferson Pike between Nissan Blvd. in Smyrna to Interstate 840
Costs: $26,530,578. - Backlogged - A new bridge on Bradyville Pike over Murray Creek
(Not backlogged) - Costs $449,000 - A new bridge on Highway 96 several miles past Kingwood Lane heading towards Triune
(Not backlogged) - Costs: $695,000 - The widening of Highway 96 between Veterans Parkway and Triune as the road goes over 840
Costs: $45,420,000 - Backlogged - The construction of a new bridge over Broad Street at Old Fort Parkway and Memorial
