Grand Jury Indicts Unionville Man On Aggravated Vehicular Homicide Charges

July 26, 2009

The Rutherford County Grand Jury indicted a 28-year old Unionville driver on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. Court records indicate that a blood-alcohol test showed Steven Davis registered .20 when tested after the January 4th crash on Versailles Road near Rockvale.  44-year old Thomas Morris, Jr. of Silver Leaf Drive died in the crash. Morris was a passenger in the other vehicle. Davis was also indicted on third time DUI charges and possession of a schedule III drug. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Marvin indicated that Davis’ Ford F-150 pickup crossed the center line of Versailles Road and slammed head-on into the other vehicle in which Morris was riding.  Steven Davis is free on $50,000 bond and is scheduled for a plea hearing in General Sessions court on August 19th.
