Greenhouse Ministries handed out close to 500 turkeys to families in need

Thanksgiving is a time that most families get together. It is also a time for loved ones who rarely see each other to gather around the table to enjoy meaningful conversation.

This year, Greenhouse Ministries in Murfreesboro handed out nearly 500 frozen turkeys and all the fixings to make the annual holiday a complete meal for less fortunate families in Rutherford County.

Every November, Greenhouse Ministries holds a turkey drive where local residents drop off frozen turkeys. Those turkeys are then taken home and cooked by families so that they can enjoy a thanksgiving dinner in their home.

This year, well over 7,000 pounds of turkeys were donated to Greenhouse Ministries.
