A fraud call landed Murfreesboro Police at a local bank to meet with an elderly victim. Once on the scene, it was learned that the 83-year old victim received a phone call from a restricted number and the caller told her she just won money.

The victim claims the caller told her to visit a bank on West Clark Boulevard in Murfreesboro and to write several checks "for cash" and then send them via Western Union to Westmoreland, Jamaica. Westmoreland is on the south side of the island and holds a population of about 150,000 residents.

Evidently the victim was seeing a vacation in her future because she told police she has already mailed money at least three times to Jamaica. By the way, the victim did not really win any money.

The case is now being investigated by Murfreesboro Police Detectives. The victim is out over $2,000.
