Hibbett's Sporting Goods in Murfreesboro hit by group of thieves

A store employee of Hibbett's Sporting Goods in Murfreesboro was assaulted during a large shoplifting incident. The theft occurred on Saturday afternoon at the sports store on South Rutherford Boulevard.

According to the employee, two black females and two black males, all in their early twenties, entered the store and started gathering merchandise. The subjects started to exit the store when one of the employees approached the four.

The suspects physically assaulted the employee and then ran from the store. The men and women got into a newer model Chevy Malibu that was black in color. They drove away before a tag number could be obtained.

Over $2,000 in Hibbett's merchandise was taken in the heist. At this point, no arrests have been made.
