Homecoming week went well with parties, parade, and even the "Bleed Blue" competition, but the grid-iron battle was hot all the way. In double overtime, the final score: Western Kentucky 44 and Blue Raiders 43.
Over 1,100 yards in total offense, and much give-and take by both teams.
Saturday's fun started at 9:00AM with the "Mixer On Main"--a watching party on the lawn of President McPhee's home. 9:30AM there were sirene, bands and a sea of blue parading down East Main--"Raideropoly". The parade route goes down East Main Street in Murfreesboro toward campus, crosses Middle Tennessee Boulevard and turns left onto Baird Lane. Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland (Class of 1997) was the grand marshal.
Another hit was the "Homecoming tailgate lunch", also on the President's Lawn.
