The National Council for Home Safety and Security ranks the top 50 safest cities across Tennessee.

They use FBI crime data and use their own internal data and research to rank the cities.

NCHSS also includes the number of violent and property crimes to show the rates per 1,000 people.

Oak Ridge took the top spot as Tennessee's safest city.

In Rutherford County, La Vergne was ranked the safest, coming in at 26. Smyrna was close behind at number 32. Murfreesboro was ranked 39 in the top 50 safest cities in the state.
