The Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission is investigating four complaints filed against a Murfreesboro used car dealership, according to a state spokesman.

Auto Hub Plus, Inc., located at 1307A W. College St., faces the state inquiry into claims people bought vehicles several months ago and still haven't received a title or permanent tags, state documents show.

One of the four complainants, McMinnville resident Larry Rader, said the used car lot appears to be closed as he continues trying to get tags after buying a 2012 Volvo sedan there in late July. The lot is empty and a "rent" sign sits in front of the building.

Rader said he filed a complaint with the Motor Vehicle Commission and is contacting the auto dealer's surety bond company to try to obtain a title.

Rader said Auto Hub Plus owner Adam Adams has given him "10,000 different reasons" he can't get the permanent tags, requiring him to continually obtain drive-out tags.

"What it boils down to is he didn't pay the people for the car," said Rader, referring to previous owners.

In addition, Rader said he is considering civil action because of "all the aggravation" the situation has caused him. His son, Bill, also bought a car there and is going through similar difficulty, he said.
