An incident at Journey Home lands a 34-year old homeless man in jail. Murfreesboro Police Officer Nicholas Sapp reports Elton Richardson was charged with aggravated assault, after allegedly striking another man in the head with a brick.

The officer was called to Journey Home on West Castle Street just after 11 Tuesday morning, where Richardson told him the victim pulled a knife. The victim said Richardson was picking on another man in the parking lot and he went to inquire what was going on.

While witnesses gave conflicting information, video surveillance from Journey Home showed no knife, but it did show the victim being hit with the brick. The victim was treated by the St. Thomas Rutherford Mobile Missionary while Richardson was taken to jail. Bond was set at 10-thousand dollars and a May 9th court date was set.
