La Vergne Armed Robbery & Arrest

La Vergne Police make a quick arrest in an armed robbery on Riverwood Drive. Officer Eric Staats arrived Monday on scene where the victims told him two suspects in a silver Pontiac Grand AM pointed a handgun at them and took a backpack, with 80-dollars inside.

After getting the vehicle description, Officer Steve Crotts located the vehicle at a nearby apartment complex. Mondrell Hess and Willie Harris were found in the vehicle, along with a 32 caliber handgun, bullets, marijuana and digital scales. The backpack and 80-dollars were no where to be found in the car.

The victims identified the suspects as the ones who committed the robbery. Both Hess and Harris were taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and charged. Hess faces aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a schedule six drug charges. Harris was charged with the same, along with aggravated assault and drug paraphernalia possession charges.
