The City of La Vergne honors the man many are hailing a hero after the shooting at Burnette Chapel Church of Christ.

Caleb Engle confronted Emanuel Samson inside the church September 24th after he'd opened fire, killing one woman and injuring six people - seven counting Engle.

The 22-year old is credited with saving countless lives. Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron:

Today - October 4th - is proclaimed "Caleb Engle Day" in the city of La Vergne. A special ceremony took place last (Tuesday) night during the monthly meeting of the mayor and aldermen at City Hall.
