La Vergne looking for curb-side recycling companies

January 6, 2010

The City of La Vergne is helping local residents find companies that recycle for a paid-by-the-customer curb side recycling program. The city has proposed a city-wide building program to the La Vergne Mayor and Aldermen, who support the activity.
In addition to the employee recycling program, city leaders are looking into companies which offer the curb-side service. This is something that would be paid for by the customer, not the city.
“We are merely trying to facilitate the program kicking off in La Vergne,” said project coordinator Angie Mayes. “We’ve seen that there is quite a bit of local interest in the program and want to help the citizens gather the information needed to get it started. It will, of course, be up to them as to who they choose to provide the service.”

For more information, contact Mayes at 615-287-8690 or e-mail her at amayes@lavergne.org.
