LaVergne High School Assistant Principal receives top honors

Congratulations to Tori Ruis, assistant principal at LaVergne High School in the Rutherford County school system.  Mrs. Ruis will be honored at a black-tie event this spring in Washington, DC. 

WGNS was told that Ruis has been serving as an assistant principal for the past five years. Prior to entering into administration she served as an eighth grade United States History teacher. She is currently serving in her fourth year at La Vergne High School where she is primarily responsible for scheduling and assessment for the school.

WGNS was told on Wednesday afternoon that her passion for education is centered on literacy. She is consumed with a drive to make a difference in the lives of young students in a positive way. With the implementation of Common Core Standards, Ruis is driven to identify and create new methods of instruction for rigorous and relevant learning, according to the information WGNS received on Wednesday.
