LaVergne Police announce arrest of local business person

Members of the La Vergne Police Department’s (LPD) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested local businessman David M. Driggers Tuesday afternoon.  45-Year old Driggers is the owner and operator of Driggers Auto Sales located at 527 Old Nashville Highway in La Vergne. The business sells used automobiles and used car parts, and operates a towing service.

A 24 year-old female employee of Driggers’ reported to La Vergne Police Tuesday afternoon that Driggers had touched and rubbed her inappropriately at the business. After the initial report was taken, members of the Police department’s Criminal Investigation Division were notified. Detectives then interviewed the victim, and along with members of the Patrol Division, arrested Driggers at his place of business in La Vergne, and charged him with Sexual Battery. He was later charged with two (2) counts of Sexual Battery as a result of an allegation of the same actions earlier this week.

Driggers was transported to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked on two counts of Sexual Battery. His bond was set at $5,000 and his initial court date is scheduled for June 30, 2014 at 8:00 AM, in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
