The La Vergne Library and Senior Center will soon be collecting food for the needy this Christmas season.

The Senior Center, located at 337 Stones River Road, will begin on Nov. 23rd and go through Dec. 15. For more information, call 793-3048.

The Library, located at 5063 Murfreesboro Road, will collect food as a part of their Food For Fines program. Bring in non-perishable food items and past due fines will be forgiven. Their drive will go from Dec. 1 - 15. Call 793-7303 for more information.

All food donated must be new and non-perishable (boxed goods, cans, etc). Expired food will not be accepted.

The food will be used for the Police Athletic League’s food for the needy program. Each year they deliver more than 60 food baksets to needy families and the elderly in La Vergne. For more information, contact Gerry Howse at 793-7744 or Angie Mayes at 287-8690.
