Local business reports $34,000 theft - two other companies also find employee thefts

A local oil company called the police after an alleged employee theft occurred. Reports indicate an employee may have stolen over $34,000 from the "Tennessee Oil Service."

According to a police incident report, the worker is accused of writing company checks and cashing them while keeping the money for himself.

Detectives are investigating the accusations. No arrests have been made.

In an unrelated case, a manager of Pei Wei restaurant on Medical Center Parkway called the police after realizing that over $1,200 was missing from two recent deposits. Right now there is now word on who misplaced or stole that deposit in question.

In a third inside theft case, a worker at JC Penny in the Stones River Mall admitted to her involvement in the theft of over $700. The worker said that she would hit the "No Sale" button on the register and then remove cash out of cash drawer. The employee admitted to the thievery after management noticed discrepancies when she worked.
