Tue. (June 2, 2009) 6-11am FARMERS MARKET is in its new home…the spacious and beautiful pavilion at the Lane Agri-Park (315 John Rice Boulevard). There are 2 interstate exits to John Rice Boulevard. Both exit # 75 Medical Center Parkway and exit #78 Old Fort Parkway take you to the new Farmers Market. The Lane Agri-Park is just down the street from Sam’s and next to the PAWS animal adoption service. This service is sponsored by the Rutherford County Agricultural Extension Service (phone 615-898-7710). It is held 6:00-11:00AM every Tuesday and Friday morning (first Friday in June through last Friday in October).

Step back to the rock’n roll era with DJ music, giveaways, prizes and fun. The Club requests a donation of $1 that will go to local charities. Sun. (June 7, 2009) 9-11am Oakland Park Seventh Day Adventist Church (711 North Maney Avenue) is giving away food to needy persons. This service to the community is offered twice each month by the church: 1st Sunday from 9-11am and the 3rd Thursday 5-7pm. If you have questions, phone 904-0344.

Academy Street).    The local group meets every month on the THIRD TUESDAY at Bradley Academy. MOVIES UNDER THE STARS June 1 - July 31, 2009 This is a FREE service of your Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the FREE movies. There are PAL drama and theatre sessions, PAL boxing program, help with homework and tutoring, bowling, self-empowerment and motivational activities, racing and more. Now Five Blood Drives Weekly
The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross has renovated and enlarged its blood center at 836 Commercial Court (around the corner from UPS). The same local staff is now handling all of these new blood drives. In addition, Murfreesboro is now equipped to service platelet pheresis donations. Leave your phone number on his pager (912-4748), and he’ll get back with you. If you would like to donate money to purchase a fan or air conditioner for a needy person, take a check made out to Cool Aid Program by FirstBank (Memorial Boulevard at St. Clair Street).
