Local Prep Athletes to Compete in All-Star Game

November 19, 2009

The Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association has announced the 3rd Annual Toyota East vs. West Tennessee All-Star Classic. It will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Burke-Tarr Stadium at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City. The game will feature approximately 90 of Tennessee’s top high school football seniors divided into East and West teams.
Nomination forms were sent to high school coaches in October. The teams were selected and announced in November.

There are six Rutherford County football players on the East team, with one local alternate and coach. They are…from Riverdale, quarterback Cody West and offensive lineman Chris Mayes, from Oakland, defensive end Darius Coffey and defensive tackle Tim McAdoo and from Blackman defensive back DeShawn Smith. Riverdale linebacker C.J. Overton is an alternate. Oakland head coach Thomas McDaniel will serve as one of the East team’s assistant coaches.

I believe DaJuan Brown from Blackman was also chosen to particpate in the Toyota East vs West All Star game.

Got something to say?
