If you convert that to the Central Time Zone, it would be 2:09PM Monday afternoon. So check out the SUPER MOON tonight or tomorrow night

That means that the moon will pass the Earth at its closest distance since 1948. Scientiests say that will make the moon 30 per cent larger and 30 per cent brighter.

See Moon Sunday or Monday night

Keep in mind that Murfreesboro is in the Central Time zone. That puts the moon closest to the Earth at 2:09PM Monday afternoon.

In other words, Sunday night's moon over Murfreesboro may be the one to watch. Monday night's should prove interesting as well. With temps near the freezing point both evenings, the sky has a good chance of being relatively clear. (PHOTO shows the moon from Murfreesboro at 10:30PM CST on Sunday night)

Amazing Lunch Chit-Chat

So you'll be able to amaze your friends with lunch-time chit chat, drop the thought that the "supermoon" is technically known as "perigee full moon". To amaze them even more, tell them that when the moon passes the earth at 2:09PM Central Time Monday, it will be 356,511 kilometers away. In miles, that is slightly over 221,525 miles. In reality .6-mile over that. And one more tidbit: the difference between a normal full moon and the perigee full moon is about 7 per cent.
