Love Triangle Assault; Pregnant Woman Hurt

A pregnant woman was allegedly attacked by another woman. The alleged attacker, an illegal immigrant, was arrested Sunday morning at the Holiday Inn Express after accusing Miriam Madina-Moreno of having an affair with her husband. Patricia Cortez – according to Murfreesboro Police reports – cut the 21-year old woman with scissors and kicked her in the stomach several times after being told she was two-months pregnant with her husband’s child. Madina-Moreno was taken to Middle Tennessee Medical Center for treatment while Cortez was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. It was during the booking process authorities discovered she was an illegal immigrant. (pictured left Patricia Cortez booking photo)
