The man convicted in a Rutherford County Courtroom this past September with attempted voluntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault will be sentenced this Friday.

Garry Baker reportedly cut his step father with a knife in August of 2014. The incident occurred during an argument that took place outside of his Smyrna home. Dale Ernsberger was cut across the face and once in the arm.

The argument started when Baker accused Ernsberger of stealing his pain medication. Baker used medication to cope with pain from a serious car accident that happened in the 1990's. Baker has had multiple back surgeries in the past because of the accident.

Baker is due in court this Friday, December 4, 2015 at 9AM. He will appear before the Honorable Judge David Bragg in Circuit Court.
