In our shoplifting story of the day, cologne seemed to have been the hot item. A suspect known by a loss prevention employee was seen on video surveillance taking 8 bottles of cologne from the JC Penny store in the Stones River Mall. The suspect allegedly stole "Gucchi Guilty and Dolce & Gabanna" colognes.

The loss prevention worker at the department store told Murfreesboro Police he recognized the suspect known as "Dennis" as someone who had stolen in the past from Sears in the shopping mall. At this point, an arrest has not been made, but police do have the suspects Northfiled Blvd. address. Evidently, the culprit lives at Haynes Manor Apartments.

In other shoplifting news, an unknown person stole an iPod and an iPad from Electronic Express in the mall. In that case and the cologne situation, the total worth of merchandise stolen added up to well over $500.
