Man arrested in Murfreesboro should of had interlocking device

December 3, 2008

A 38-year old Lascassas resident who was arrested in front of the South Rutherford Blvd. Walmart store, was supposed to of had an ignition locking device on his vehicle. The culprit, who now faces his 4th DUI, was not supposed to be able to drive while intoxicated because of the court ordered device that was supposed to be attached. The device is a breath alcohol analyzer connected to the ignition of a car. A vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device cannot be started or driven unless the driver passes the unit’s breath alcohol tests. And in this case, the driver would likely have failed that test because of the fact that he was arrested and charged with DUI. The local suspect was also charged with violating the court order of having a interlocking device on his car.
