A man who accidentally fell and stabbed himself in the chest with a knife on Monday in Murfreesboro is still recovering. The so called accident unfolded at "The Grove" apartments.

Apparently, the 26 year old man told police he was mopping the floor when he reached to put a knife in the sink and slipped. When the man slipped and fell, he said that he fell onto the knife accidentally stabbing himself in the chest.

The man told police that two people witnessed the accident. However, when police spoke to one of the two witnesses, she said she only drove the man to the hospital and did not see it happen.

Police then tried to call the second witness, but she could not be reached.

The case is now under investigation.
