A 19-year old Murfreesboro man claims he was bit by a Murfreesboro Police K-9. The incident, which occurred several days ago, is being investigated.

Quintin Marable told police he was walking home in the area of Bradyville Pike when a black German Shepard started following him. When the teen stepped onto his porch, he says the dog bit him on the back of his right leg, behind his knee.

The victims father said when his son came into the home he looked outside and saw the dog on their porch. The father said the dog then left. The victim told officers when they responded that he believes the dog is a Murfreesboro Police K-9 that lives nearby. The name of the dog is believed to be Diesel.

Sgt. Kyle Evans with the MPD told WGNS...

"Officials with the MPD were notified of a complaint of a K9, possibly an MPD Police K-9 biting a citizen.  An internal investigation was launched and is currently underway.  Anytime a complaint of this nature is made, an investigation is conducted into the allegation."

The Pet Adoption and Welfare Services office were called to the scene. The case remains open at this time.
