Man on bicycle fatally injured in accident on Tuesday night in Murfreesboro

A man who was walking his bicycle along North Rutherford Boulevard in Murfreesboro on Tuesday night was struck by a motorist and killed. WGNS' Bryan Barrett has the story...


VERBATIM: The accident occurred at about 8:30 Tuesday night. After the man was struck, he was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center where he later died. Murfreesboro Police Sgt. Kyle Evans says the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is investigating a serious injury crash, which involved a vehicle and a person on a bicycle.  The person on the bicycle was transported to MTMC by RCEMS. At this point it appears as if no charges will be filed against the driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist. Alcohol was not involved in the case and the driver was not driving in a reckless manner.
