A man sentenced to spend 42-years behind bars in Rutherford County after being convicted of three counts of attempted aggravated robbery and one count of attempted aggravated burglary will remain behind bars despite his plea that the punishment is excessive.

Following a jury trial conviction in the Circuit Court of Rutherford County, Defendant, Bobby D. Parker, filed an appeal suggesting the sentencing was too long for the crimes committed. The Court of Criminal Appeals in Nashville did not see it that way and agreed with the judgments of the trial court. The courts labeled Parker as a career offender and suggested the sentence was appropriate.
