Smyrna Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a 39-year old man wanted on various sex abuse related charges. Edward Tarras was supposed to be in court Friday to answer to charges of rape, sexual battery of a minor and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor. But Tarras failed to appear in Circuit Court and it was learned he's on the run. Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold says they learned Tarras had cut off his tracking bracelet and has fled Tennessee. The chief says they believe he could be headed to Montana or Wyoming and he also has numerous friends and relatives in New Jersey and Florida.

Tarras is described as a white male, about 5-foot-eight-inches and weighs around 200 pounds. He currently has brown hair and a light beard. Tarras is also known to keep his head and face shaved. He currently has a capias for his arrest and is to be held without bond. Anyone with information about Edward Tarras or where he can be found is asked to contact Detective Allan Nabours with the Smyrna Police Department 459-6644.
