Complaining about bed bugs in a local motel is one thing, but when the motel staff called police, the plan to seek a refund backfired.

Murfreesboro Police were called to a South Church Street address where motel staff called about a "Suspicious Subject." When officers arrived they met with 28-year old Deadrick Morris Yeargins who was attempting to get a refund because he claimed his motel room had bedbugs. Police conducted a routine warrants check and learned that the man had an outstanding felony warrant for theft waiting for him.

Police quickly notified the state that they had the man in custody and also learned he was listed on the Sex Offender Registry. The offender information was important to police because the 28-year old was in the presence of a child that was not his.

Morris Yeargins was served the single felony warrant and taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. His court date will be set by the state of Tennessee.

Original Conviction which placed him on the registry:

07/01/2007 CRIMINAL ATTEMPT TO COMMIT RAPE
