While on WGNS, Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland challenged residents to race him at 10:00 o'clock New Year's morning.

Approximately 500 headed to Barfield Crescent Park and accepted his challenge. And Mayor McFarland really tried. He came in as #18 in a field of 498.

The Mayor says that Murfreesboro has initiated a "Better Boro Project" designed to promote healthy eating, encourage outdoor recreation, and provide unique and accessible wellness activities.
