A small amount of meth was again found in a motel room in Murfreesboro. This is the second time that meth or meth ingredients have been found in a local motel room within the past week in Murfreesboro.

Police pulled a subject over on Old Fort Parkway and during the stop, passenger Zachery Ryan Smith was revealed to have a warrant against him out of Wilson County for Violation of Probation. Evidently the original charge was for a felony theft case. A probation officer was then contacted and that officer told police he wanted to search the motel room Mr. Smith had allegedly been staying in.

Police then took the Nashville man back to his motel room on Chaffin Place, directly off of Old Fort Parkway. Inside the room a probation officer and a police officer located a glass pipe and a film can that reportedly contained meth. The police report that WGNS obtained stated, “Mr. Smith was Mirandized and admitted the meth and pipe was his…” the report also showed that officers looked through the suspects’ cell phone where they found numerous text messages about selling pills.

Smith was taken to the local jail at 940 New Salem Highway where he was booked without bond on local charges of “Possession of Meth” and “Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.” He was also served the outstanding warrant that originated in Wilson County. He will appear in General Sessions Court in Rutherford County on April 9, 2014, but his court date for Wilson County has not been set.
