Beginning January 2017, Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC) will open the most advanced outpatient Endovascular Lab in the region. This addition will allow MMC's Vascular Surgery and Vein Center to better serve their patients and the community.

Some of the procedures that will be performed in the new state-of-the-art Endovascular Lab include: Venograms, Arteriograms, Dialysis Access procedures, Stenting procedures and Angioplasty of the lower extremities.

"In the past these procedures have been performed in the hospital, with an overnight stay required, now patients can be released same day," said Ramesh Gowda, M.D., Vascular Surgeon at MMC. "With this technology we can perform minimally invasive procedures with little to no down time, ultimately benefiting the patient."

Dr. Gowda, joined by his partners David Chatman, M.D., and Rodney Bensley, Jr., M.D., who just joined the MMC Vascular Surgery and Vein Center back in September, are excited to open this lab as it has been in the works for the past year or so.

"This new Endovascular Lab has been an ongoing initiative of Drs. Chatman and Gowda for a few years. With Dr. Bensley joining MMC in 2016, we were able to make it a reality. It will allow us to treat some patients in an outpatient setting," noted MMC's Chief Executive Officer, Joey Peay.
