The city of La Vergne is currently experiencing D-1 or "Moderate Drought" conditions, according to the National Drought Mitigation Center. The La Vergne Public Works department says the scarce level of precipitation Middle Tennessee has been experiencing has caused the Phase 1 Alert. Currently, there is no required action regarding water conservation. However, further drought will result in La Vergne Public Works moving to a Phase 2 Alert, at which point voluntary water restrictions would go into effect.
