The number of suicides in Murfreesboro seem to be on the increase. There were several attempted suicides reported in recent days along with another actual suicide that was reported on Monday (4/3/17). One woman even took a large number of pills on FaceBook "LIVE." The woman survived, but later told police it was in an attempt to kill herself.

Evidently, a co-worker of the deceased went to check on the 24-year-old man and found him dead in his Sloan Street kitchen. A police report showed that the man had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. National Guard gear that belonged to the deceased was located in the living room.

Apparently, the victim's father also committed suicide in the past.

The previous Saturday, a suicide took place under the South Church Street bridge near the Warrior Drive / South Church Street intersection in Murfreesboro. In that case, it was a 44 year old man who took his own life.
