The Motlow College Smyrna Center is hosting a care-package drive for the homeless now until Dec. 18, according to Estelle Davis, secretary at the Smyrna Center.

"As we all know there are many people far less fortunate than us during the holiday season," said Davis. "There are many everyday things we take for granted like having toothpaste, a toothbrush, comb, soap or deodorant."

All care packages must be dropped off at the Smyrna Center admissions office and should be placed in a gallon-sized zipper bag. Please deliver the care packages by Dec. 18, so they can be donated to a local shelter before Christmas.

Ideas for items in the care packages include: lip balm, packs of tissue, toothbrushes, small tubes of toothpaste, combs, soap, hand lotion, sample-sized shampoo, granola bars, crackers, packs of gum, hand wipes, socks, hats and gloves.

"The ideas are endless," added Davis. "Even the simplest gift could be the change a person needs to help them start a new life."
