The Murfreesboro Police Department has announced the graduation of Lieutenant Allen Cox and Sergeant Sam Smith from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. This school consists of an upper level executive leadership curriculum which focus on police management, human resources, personnel allocation and organizational behavior.

Past graduates include Major David Hudgens, Captain Cary Gensemer, Captain Nathan McDaniel, Captain Alan Smith, Lieutenant Bryan Anderson, Lieutenant Garry Carter, Lieutenant Don Fanning, Lieutenant Reco Hathaway, Lieutenant Steve Jarrell, Lieutenant Jeff Keaton, Lieutenant Jimmy Puckett, Lieutenant Steve Teeters, Sergeant Jeff Baskette, Sergeant Tommy Massey, Sergeant Scott Newberg, Sergeant Melonie Roche, Sergeant Greg Walker and Sergeant Justin Lemanski.
