MPD Released Statement On Old Fort Park Stabbing

(MURFREESBORO) -- We know more about a weekend stabbing at Old Fort Park.

Murfreesboro Police spokeswoman Amy Norville reports officers responded to a call of a fight at 1025 Old Fort Parkway around 7:30 Saturday night near Kid's Castle.

She says upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim, identified as 61-year old Martin Kobe of Murfreesboro. He had multiple stab wounds. Kobe was treated on scene by Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department personnel and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services who then transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for transfer to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He remains in critical condition at this time.

The suspect, 35-year old Joshua Kolwalski of Murfreesboro, was apprehended on scene and was booked into the Rutherford County Sherriff's Department charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. He is being held under $50,000 bond.

(MURFREESBORO) -- Around 7:30 Saturday (8/11/2018) evening, there was a stabbing in a parking lot near Kid's Castle in the Old Fort Park. WGNS has learned that the victim was first taken to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, but later flown by LifeFlight to the Vanderbilt Trauma Center.

Officials say that a 61-year male suffered multiple stabbing wounds to his head, near the left eye. He remains in critical condition at Vanderbilt.
